Education

More than 22,000 students are pursuing academic qualifications, from a bachelor’s degree to a doctorate, at UM1 (Montpellier 1 University). Degree courses and diplomas are distributed among 4 educational fields.

A Pluridisciplinary Approach

Distinguished by the diversity of its components (Law, Economics, Administration, Management, Medicine, Pharmacy, Odontology and STAPS (Sports and Exercise Science and Technology)), its multi-site structure (seven university departments and two institutes, a Medical site in Nîmes and a vocational satellite at the Saint-Chély-D’apcher site in Lozère), MONTPELLIER 1 University encompasses a wide range of educational fields, from Life Sciences and Chemical Sciences to Human and Social Sciences.
The university is also committed to lifelong education, as attested to by DIDERIS, the further education department, which launches numerous initiatives on behalf of a wide public.

Registrar’s Office

Each University Department (UFR) has a registrar’s office which works in close collaboration with:

  • the Academic and Student Life Department (D.E.V.E), the university’s central department,
  • the Common University Information and Guidance Department (SCUIO), which helps students to choose their areas of specialisation and integrate into the work force,
  • the International Relations Department, which assists students in relocating.
